Principal AM launches EM debt high income fund
Principal Asset Management has launched the Finisterre Emerging Markets Debt High Income Fund. With initial capital of $100 million the fund invests in sovereign, local, and corporate bonds and aims to maintain a volatility profile within an annualized range of 3% to 5% with a portfolio consisting of 100 to 150 issuers. L&G to invest $1bn in EM debt for nature swaps
Legal & General is to invest $1 billion in 'debt for nature' swaps in emerging markets, designed to reduce interest payments and support conservation in developing countries. JP Morgan plans local currency frontier markets index
JPMorgan is planning to launch a new index that will track local currency bonds from frontier markets. The index comes 15 after after the bank launch EXGEM, its hard currency frontier index. It is believed that the index will include up to 25 countries, with the largest weightings going to Egypt, Vietnam, Kenya, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Nigeria, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and the index is expected to only include bonds of a value of $250 million or greater.
